To date we have gifted 1,050 shawls/blankets to family, friends, Mercy Hospice and others in and outside of our community. We have also made 1,825 baby beanies for Birthright and 152 finger fidgets for Mercy Behavioral Health.

Our prayer shawls have gone to recipients in 24 US states and 4 countries.

Who We Are:

A Prayer Shawl Ministry was started in January of 2017 and is open to everyone. We knit/crochet prayer shawls/baby blankets for those who need comfort from a life altering diagnosis, mental health issues, or loss of a loved one. We are happy to teach you how to knit/crochet.

This group is part of the Legion of Mary under the Evangelization Commission.

The Prayer Shawl Mission:

Knit or crochet for those who need comfort from a life altering diagnosis, mental health issues, or loss of a loved one.

This opportunity allows us to use our hands for God’s glory. God knows who will receive our loving work before we present it to them, and what their needs are even before we have completed our work. As you make your shawl, pray that your work be blessed and that the love and prayers you put into each stitch will envelop the person who will receive it with God’s comforting embrace and peace.
