Engagement Commission

Welcome and engage parishioners at every stage on their faith journey.

Ambassadors - Social group for parishioners over 50.

Ascension Ladies Bridge Group   - Social Bridge for Fun!

Athletic Association - Honor God Through Sports.

Get ‘er Done Guys and Gals   - Assists in making minor repairs around the Parish.

Greeters - Make Ascension a warm, inviting house of worship by greeting parishioners prior to Mass.

Knights of Columbus - Men’s group working to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Ladies Auxiliary - Women’s group striving to be a positive influence in their families, Parish and community (works in cooperation with the Knights of Columbus).

Parish Partners - Welcomes new parishioners, providing them with any needed information.

Prayer Line Warriors -  Pray for the prayer requests of parishioners.

Scouts - Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Venturing.

Young Adults - An opportunity for those 18-39 to grow in faith, build community, and connect with other young adults.

Liturgical Life

Liturgical Life Commission

Foster a great sense of community through the Liturgical Life of the parish.

Adoration - A form of Catholic prayer where we adore Jesus Christ’s physical presence in the Blessed Sacrament.

Altar Servers - Provide assistance to the priests during Mass.

Altar Society - Making the house of the Lord welcoming by cleaning the church, laundering altar linens, etc.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word - Sharing the Gospel message with young children during 9:15 and 10:45 Sunday Mass.

Divine Mercy - Leading and educating people on the power of praying the The Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

Eucharistic Ministers - Assist with distributing Holy Communion at Mass.

Lectors - Proclaim the Word of God during Mass.

Little Church Flower Ministry - Create floral arrangements to be displayed in the Little Church, honoring the Holy Family.

Little Lambs - Sunday School for preschool children.

Live Stream Operators - Operate the equipment which live-streams daily & Sunday Mass.

Music Department - Provide liturgical music.

Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima - Increase devotion to Our Lady of Fatima and the Rosary.

PSR - Parents' Support for Religious Education of Youth.

Quilting and Sewing Group - Design & make quilts, altar cloths, etc.

Senior Living Ministry - Bring Communion to and converse with residents at several local senior centers.

Ushers - Assist parishioners in finding seats, take up the collection, & bring the gifts to the altar.

Young Family Holy “Hour” - Join other young families in a short time of Adoration followed by socializing.

New Evangelization Commission

Foster a strong devotion to Christ and cultivate opportunities for spiritual growth.

ABC (Ascension Bereavement Community) - Supporting those mourning the loss of a loved one.

Creating Catholic Experiences in Motherhood - Give your kids a Catholic identity!

Legion of Mary (Thursday afternoon)- Women glorifying God through Mary, prayer, and service.

Legion of Mary (Saturday morning)- Women glorifying God through Mary, prayer, and service.

Martha’s Guild - Provides and serves funeral lunches.

Men’s 55   - 55 minute scripture study.

Men’s Awakening - A video based study of everything Catholic.

OCIA   (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults; formerly RCIA) - Learn more about the Catholic faith.

OCIT (Order of Christian Initiation for Teens; formerly RCIT) - Learn more about the Catholic faith.

Padre Pio Prayer Group - Prayer group fostering devotion to Padre Pio.

Prayer Shawl Ministry - Knit or crochet for those who need comfort.

Small Faith Groups - Develop a deeper relationship with Christ in a small group (under 10).

       Regular Joes - Small faith group for men drawing inspiration from St. Joseph.

Women of the Word (Thursday morning) - Women’s faith group/bible study.

Women of the Word   (Wednesday evening) - Women’s faith group/bible study.

Youth Ministry (Middle School & High School)  - Teen program.

Social Justice

Social Justice Commission

Help foster a culture of life and dignity for every person.

Casserole Bakers - Bake a casserole which will be delivered to a food pantry or soup kitchen!

Foodbank Volunteers   - Volunteer with other Ascension parishioners at the St Louis Foodbank.

Green Team   - Promoting environmental awareness and our call to care for God’s Creation.

Mental Health Awareness Committee - Working to eliminate the stigma surrounding Mental Health.

Reach Out - Collecting food, clothing, and monetary donations for the less fortunate in St. Louis.

Respect Life Committee   - Standing up for the pre-born and their mothers.

  •  40 Days for Life  - Peacefully praying outside Planned Parenthood for an end to abortion.


St. Vincent de Paul   - Offering assistance and hope to our Neighbors-in-Need.

  •  Ascension Food Pantry - (Bilingual volunteers especially needed!)
  • Feeding the Homeless at Saints Peter & Paul  - Make meals for the homeless @ Sts Peter & Paul.
  • St. Nicholas Food Pantry  (Wait list only.)
