engagement Commission

Members of the Engagement Commission welcome and engage parishioners at every stage on their journey of faith.


Together, they:


  • Coordinate greeter teams.
  • Mentor and connect new members with ministries.
  • Reach out to estranged parishioners in need.
  • Encourage new avenues of hospitality and fellowship.


The focus of the Engagement Commission is to foster a stronger identity of membership among our parish family by engaging and welcoming new parishioners, established parishioners, and visitors into our community .  Their vision is to make church matter by growing Ascension parishioners into disciples who in turn invite others to the Catholic Church in Chesterfield and assisting other Catholic Churches to do the same.


If you are interested in helping plan any of the following events/programs, join our Commission!

Donut Sundays, Faith in Action, Bunco for Birthright, Parish Movie Nights, Ask the Padre, Grilling at Fair Ascension, Pet Blessing, Christmas Tree Lighting & Bonfire, etc.

Ministries and Programs:

Ambassadors - Social group for parishioners over 50.

Ascension Ladies Bridge Group - Social Bridge for Fun!

Athletic Association - Honor God Through Sports

Get 'er Done Guys & Gals - Assists in making minor repairs around the Parish.

Greeters - Make Ascension a warm, inviting house of worship by greeting parishioners prior to Mass.

Knights of Columbus - Men’s group working to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Ladies Auxiliary - Women’s group striving to be a positive influence in their families, Parish and community (works in cooperation with the Knights of Columbus).

Parish Partners - Welcomes new parishioners, providing them with any needed information.

Prayer Line Warriors - Pray for the prayer requests of parishioners

Scouts - Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts

Young Adults -An opportunity for those 18-39 to grow in faith, build community, and connect with other young adults.
