Ascension Bereavement Community’s (ABC) Mission is:

• To provide a Christ-centered group experience to those grieving the loss of a loved one.
• To support spiritually and emotionally those who mourn.
• To provide knowledge of the grieving process and resources for the journey.
• To offer a caring, compassionate, and confidential atmosphere for the sharing of experiences.

Ascension Bereavement Community (ABC) is in direct contact with the family, offering  support at the time of loss. In this accompaniment, ABC assists in funeral planning, is present at the funeral to prepare the church, and coordinates the details to assure things go smoothly and properly. Individual and group Catholic grief support is available in the time following a loss. With the association to the Office of Sacred Worship of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, ABC works in the growth of grief support in the Archdiocese.. At the parish level, ABC is committed to inform the parish of funerals, encourages all parishioners to pray for the souks of the dead, and offers a prayerful presence at funerals. In truth, as members of the Body of Christ, we all are members of the Bereavement ministry.
